THERAPY FOR CHILDREN AND TEENS IN NY AND NEW JERSEY

Strategies to help your child succeed & thrive.

What it’s like to work with me

In my sessions with children and teens:

I first work on getting a comprehensive understanding of what your child or teen may be struggling with. Because we live in a world highly impacted by the systems we’re a part of and our environments, I seek to understand how their lives are influenced by these various factors (e.g., school, friends, family, community). In my sessions with your child or adolescent, my main goal is for them to be seen and understood, and in order to do that, I really need to understand their world and how they view it.

I have expertise in various evidence-based approaches (e.g., Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT*), DBT-informed (I will incorporate skills from DBT when appropriate) that I’ll utilize to help your child grow and thrive. Whether that is working on their fears and helping them become more confident, increasing their self-esteem and working through their depression, or other issues that keep your child or teen from thriving.

*Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an umbrella term with lots of different treatments within the CBT umbrella. Some of the ones I’m trained in include Behavioral Activation for depression, Organizational Skills Training for ADHD, Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD or health anxiety. I will utilize my extensive expertise in these different treatment approaches to tailor treatment with the most effective option for your child or teen.
